Curiora Security & Privacy Overview

A plain-language overview of Curiora's privacy-first, local-first, and security-conscious product approach.

Our Commitments

Curiora is designed as a calm, private memory space for families, friends, and meaningful life moments.

This page explains our security and privacy approach in plain language.

Private by Default

Memories are private unless you choose to share them. We design sharing to be explicit, visible, and permission-based.

Local-First Where Possible

Curiora supports local capture and local storage. You should be able to start preserving memories without immediately creating a cloud account.

Cloud sync is optional and intended to help with backup, continuity, and multi-device use.

You Own Your Memories

You retain ownership of the content you create, upload, and import.

Curiora exists to help you preserve and use your memories, not to take ownership of them.

Export Matters

A memory app should not trap your life inside a proprietary system.

Curiora will support export options, starting with local library export and expanding over time.

AI Should Be Transparent

AI may help organize, search, summarize, or rediscover memories. We will describe where AI is used and avoid pretending AI is magic or infallible.

Security Is a Product Feature

We use reasonable safeguards such as encrypted transport, account authentication, access controls, environment separation, secure cloud storage practices, and monitoring for misuse and failures.

Family Memories Deserve Extra Care

Family and child-related memories are sensitive. Curiora will continue to improve controls around sharing, permissions, deletion, and visibility.

Current MVP Notes

During MVP, some privacy and security features may be simpler than the long-term design. We will be transparent about current behavior and avoid making claims that are not yet implemented.
